Hello and thanks for visiting the site!
I pulled this blog together as a virtual gallery of the paintings I’m doing at the moment. I’m an Australian based in beautiful Delray Beach, Florida and love to paint the world I see around me.
While the inspiration for my canvases are locally based my technique draws from around the world and across the ages – in particular the art work of the Tiwi Islands in Australia, modernist collage as well as fabric quilters of all stripes but especially those of Gee’s Bend Alabama and Hawaiian applique ‘schools’. I have posted a number websites on these artistic styles on my links page.
My works are mixed technique – usually I use acrylic paints on brown paper (I find Whole Foods grocery bags are the best!), then cut and shape the work before applying it to the canvas with glue and sealer.
I hope you enjoy exploring this site as much as I have loved creating the works!

Sal / Melissa you’re right – nothing gets done with messrs. Hurricane & Tornado about so am not very speedy in production… And Lisel, am working on a portrait of the boys at the moment so we’ll see if that one makes it to being a post on the blog 😉
